I am finally getting around to posting about the jumping clinic we attended this summer! In June, I took two students–Lulu and Mina–to Hippophile Farm for a weekend of instruction with renowned Florida-based trainer Cyril Pittion-Rossillon. The weather was absolutely perfect on the island, Kris Carey was an excellent host (her farm is beautiful!), and much fun was had by all. We all camped together down the road at the State Park, which was both convenient and fun.
It was both educational and rewarding for me to watch two of my students get such positive feedback from a well respected trainer, and to watch them push themselves and reach new heights. There was a really nice group of other students there as well and everyone got along famously.
I also brought Clay along and rode him in a lesson with Kris and another trainer from our area, Jen Hovde. I am sure all the kids enjoyed watching their instructors get schooled! Clay, who has very limited jumping experience, was an absolute trooper. He is always up for anything–one of the many reasons I love that guy!
We are already looking forward to this clinic again next summer, and thank Kris for supporting the hunter/jumper discipline in our area and providing us with this great learning opportunity!
